MetaMask has taken precautionary measures to protect its users' assets following a security incident that affected part of its infrastructure.

The company is withdrawing some Ether (ETH) validators operated through MetaMask Staking, its noncustodial staking business, as a result.

According to the company, this measure targets validators connected to Lido protocol and aims to protect assets tied to those operations.

The final group of validators is expected to complete their exit by October 7. After withdrawal, the ETH will go through the validator exit and withdrawal process before being added back to staking.
