Metaplanet Adjusts Strategy to Boost Bitcoin Holdings with Strategic Investments
Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm with a Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy, has updated its capital allocation framework to support further Bitcoin accumulation. The company announced on Monday that it plans to allocate up to 15% of its total assets to strategic investments, which will generate net interest income. This income will be used to fund both Bitcoin purchases and dividend payments.
The revised policy allows for 10% to 15% of assets to be directed toward strategic investments, including mergers and acquisitions, as well as interest-bearing assets. The remaining 85% to 90% of assets will continue to be held in Bitcoin, reinforcing the company’s commitment to BTC as its core treasury reserve asset.
Metaplanet’s strategy aims to strengthen its financial capacity and credit quality, enabling the company to grow its Bitcoin holdings per share through additional acquisitions. By investing in income-generating assets, the firm seeks to create a sustainable model for expanding its Bitcoin reserves while maintaining shareholder value.
