Metaplanet's Relatively Small Loss Amidst Corporate Treasury Volatility
Metaplanet, a Japanese investment company and one of the top three largest public companies by Bitcoin reserves, reported a loss of 182.7 million yen ($1.1 million) in its recent financial report.
This is the smallest loss among the top three largest corporate treasuries, with Strategy reporting an $8.2 billion quarterly loss and Twenty One Capital at $400 million.
Metaplanet's Bitcoin reserve has dropped by 37% since spring 2024, from a total cost of $4.41 billion to an estimated $2.74 billion today.
The company emphasizes its focus on long-term performance, rather than quarterly price fluctuations, and maintains its goal of accumulating 100,000 BTC by the end of this year and 210,000 BTC by the end of next year.
