Mewe, the privacy-focused social network with over 21 million users, has announced a major partnership with Payward Services. The collaboration aims to integrate Payward's B2B infrastructure platform into Mewe's upcoming Marketplace, enabling seamless fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. This move aligns with Mewe's vision of transforming communities into thriving economies, allowing users to transact, tip, and reward each other within their trusted networks.
The integration will leverage Payward's secure wallet infrastructure, which has powered Kraken for 15 years. This foundation will support various transaction features, including direct tipping, paid and locked content, community rewards, and digital goods like NFTs. Mewe's CEO, Carlos Betancourt, emphasized that this partnership represents a shift in how social platforms handle value exchange, bridging web3 capabilities with traditional social interaction and e-commerce.
Mark Greenberg, Chief Commercial Officer at Payward, highlighted that their infrastructure allows Mewe to focus on its members without becoming a traditional financial institution. The phased rollout begins on October 9, 2026, targeting US, UK, and EU markets before expanding globally. This collaboration ensures that Mewe maintains its commitment to privacy while pioneering the social commerce revolution.
