MEXC CEO Skeptical About Retail Leverage of 500x in Cryptocurrency Markets

Share

MEXC CEO Vugar Usi has expressed skepticism about the retail case for leverage of 500x in an interview with Finance Magnates.

The comment comes as crypto exchanges expand into traditional markets, including forex, commodities, and U.S. equities.

Usi pointed to MEXC's August 2025 launch of U.S. stock futures with a 5x ceiling, which is the same limit imposed by European rules on retail contracts for difference tied to individual shares.

The CEO noted that the crypto sector has not settled on a common standard for retail leverage and highlighted how MEXC advertises up to 200x on selected stock futures and up to 1,000x on precious-metals perpetuals.
