Miami Developer Accepts Kaspa as Payment for Luxury Townhomes
A Miami developer is breaking new ground by accepting Kaspa (KAS) as payment for two luxury townhomes in the Shenandoah neighborhood. Bayit Development's move marks one of the first times a mid-cap cryptocurrency has been used to purchase a property.
The townhomes, which are under construction and set to be completed in March 2027, will be sold using KAS, with prices yet to be revealed. The developer plans to share details on how Kaspa payments will be structured, including exchange terms and conversion timing, closer to completion.
Kaspa is a proof-of-work blockDAG cryptocurrency that has gained a loyal following among its users. Its ability to process multiple blocks in parallel makes it an attractive option for fast transactions. However, the developer's decision to accept KAS as payment may be seen as a marketing stunt rather than genuine adoption.
The move follows a trend of luxury developers and sellers in Miami chasing crypto buyers, with some high-end listings already accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum payments. Bayit's choice of Kaspa over more well-known cryptocurrencies like BTC or ETH is likely a deliberate attempt to generate buzz around the under-the-radar coin.
