Microsoft Cybersecurity Model Outperforms Rivals at Half the Cost

Microsoft has released its first dedicated cybersecurity model named MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, which it says can handle up to 90% of tasks on its own. The company claims that when combined with MDASH, a vulnerability-hunting system, the setup scored an impressive 95.95% on CyberGym.

CyberGym is a benchmark that tests AI agents' ability to reproduce known vulnerabilities in open-source code. In this case, MAI-Cyber-1-Flash surpassed other leading models, including GPT-5.6 Sol and Mythos 5, which scored 83.6% and 83.8%, respectively.

The new model's efficiency is a significant advantage over its competitors, with Microsoft claiming that it can deliver world-class performance at half the cost of leading models.
