MicroStrategy Halts Bitcoin Buying Streak Amid Shift in Capital Strategy

MicroStrategy's recent lack of Bitcoin purchases has raised eyebrows in the crypto market. According to SEC filings, the company has not made any new acquisitions since June 15-21, when it bought 520 BTC for $34.9 million at an average price of $67,068.

The absence of fresh buys aligns with a broader shift in MicroStrategy's capital management strategy, introduced in late June. The company is no longer solely focused on buying Bitcoin; instead, it has implemented a framework that includes building dollar reserves, executing share buybacks, and establishing a monetization program for its digital assets.

MicroStrategy has bolstered its dollar reserves to $3.225 billion by selling $263.5 million in stock. The company has also authorized programs to repurchase up to $1 billion of common stock, $1 billion of digital credit securities, and established a Bitcoin Monetization Program of up to $1.25 billion.
