MicroStrategy Resumes Bitcoin Purchases, Eyes Daily Dividend Payments
MicroStrategy has ended its three-month hiatus from buying Bitcoin and is now resuming weekly acquisitions. The company led by Michael Saylor has increased its holdings for two consecutive weeks in September, with a net quarterly increase of 1,666 coins.
The purchases were funded through the sale of shares and repurchasing preferred stock to stabilize prices. MicroStrategy plans to introduce daily dividend payments on its preferred shares, which will begin on November 2 for holders of record as of November 1.
The company has reached a record-high total Bitcoin holdings of 847,666 coins, with an average purchase price of $75,437 and a total acquisition cost of approximately $63.9 billion.
