MicroStrategy Seeks Dominance in Bitcoin Ecosystem
MicroStrategy's CEO Phong Le has outlined the company's ambitious goal to become 'the Goldman Sachs of Bitcoin'. In an interview with Bitcoin Magazine, Le stated that Strategy's objective is not merely to hold a large amount of Bitcoin, but rather to create products, build markets, and provide liquidity for digital assets. This would serve what Le believes could be an economy covering 8 billion people.
Strategy's digital credit ecosystem currently stands at around $15 billion, with DeFi protocols built on the STRC token generating more revenue than the company's own products. Le explained that the decision to buy back shares rather than raise dividends was due to the desire to retain capital for future growth. The CEO also touched on his thoughts following a period of pressure on the digital credit business.
Regarding Bitcoin strategy, Strategy adopts a long-term approach with flexibility, considering Bitcoin as an asset on the balance sheet similar to cash. Le addressed concerns about MSCI index exclusions, stating that the company opposes exclusion based on principle. Furthermore, he revealed that AI tools have been integrated into Strategy's software and Bitcoin business.
