MicroStrategy Sells Another Batch of Bitcoin for $105 Million
MicroStrategy, now known as Strategy, has sold another batch of Bitcoin, this time for approximately $105 million. The company announced in an SEC filing that it sold 1,638 BTC, marking its sixth consecutive week without acquiring any new Bitcoin. This latest liquidation follows a similar sale last month, where the company offloaded 3,588 BTC. Strategy uses debt instruments to finance its massive Bitcoin treasury and has been restructuring its capital through its Digital Credit Capital Framework.
The company's average sale price for this recent batch of Bitcoin was around $64K, which is significantly lower than its overall average purchase price of $75,419. The proceeds from the sale will be used to fund dividend payments on Strategy's preferred stock classes and re-purchases of STRC. With a fiat liquidity recently climbing past the $3.75 billion mark, it seems that Strategy is managing its finances with caution.
Despite this latest sale, Strategy remains one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin globally, sitting on a paper loss of $10.9 billion. The company's crypto-holding portfolio continues to be tracked by Arkham, allowing users to monitor its holdings and set custom transaction alerts.
