MicroStrategy Stock Climbs 3% on Share Sale Raising $333M
MicroStrategy's (MSTR) stock price rose by 3% on Monday as the company continued to raise capital through share sales. The latest transaction saw the sale of 3.46 million shares, generating approximately $333.7 million in net proceeds.
The funds were allocated across three areas: funding dividends on its STRC preferred stock ($52.4 million), repurchasing STRC shares under its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program ($132.2 million), and adding to the company's USD Reserve ($149.1 million). The reserve now stands at approximately $4.8 billion.
The company has sold a total of 8.54 million shares for $833.7 million since July, using the proceeds to fund preferred-stock dividends and strengthen its USD Reserve. Its Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 840,447 BTC, valued at around $53.4 billion based on the price cited in the filing.
Strategy's approach comes under scrutiny as Bitcoin treasury companies face increased questions over their valuations and market structure. The company has restricted its USD Reserve to preferred-stock dividends and interest payments while authorizing a $1 billion repurchase program for digital credit securities.
