MicroStrategy's $8.2B Loss Hides Growing Bitcoin Empire
MicroStrategy's $8.22 billion net loss in Q2 2026 masks its expanding Bitcoin empire, according to recent financial reports.
The company holds 843,775 BTC, making it the world's largest institutional Bitcoin holder, with a 25% year-to-date increase in holdings and a 5% rise in Bitcoin Per Share (BPS).
Despite Bitcoin's price decline during Q2, MicroStrategy strengthened its balance sheet by reducing convertible debt by 18%, repurchasing $1.5 billion of notes at an 8% discount to par value.
The company also increased its USD Reserve to $3.75 billion and launched a $1 billion MSTR share repurchase authorization, although no common shares have been bought back yet.
