Zero-knowledge proof blockchain network Miden is set to launch its privacy-enabled stablecoin USDCx later this month, alongside its mainnet debut. The new coin will be issued natively on the Miden network using Circle's xReserve infrastructure, backed 1:1 by USDC deposited in xReserve smart contracts.

USDCx is designed with a privacy-first approach that keeps balances, counterparties, and transaction history hidden from external parties by default. However, it will allow selective disclosure of necessary information, such as balances or source of funds, to auditors, regulators, or counterparties.

Miden aims to address the transparency limitations of public blockchains, which are often cited as a major obstacle to bringing them into institutional finance. By maintaining confidentiality while satisfying regulatory compliance requirements, Miden's strategy is to overcome this limitation through selective disclosure.
