Midnight Token Surges as WallStreetBets Founder Highlights Importance of Privacy
WallStreetBets founder Jaime Rogozinski believes that privacy is crucial for crypto's broader institutional adoption, particularly if large-scale transactions occur on-chain. He emphasized this point in a recent X post, arguing that institutions may require ways to conduct blockchain transactions without exposing sensitive financial activity on public ledgers.
Rogozinski's commentary comes as the native token of Cardano's sidechain Midnight (NIGHT) has posted significant gains. NIGHT climbed from an intraday low of $0.03117 to $0.04334, representing a 39% increase. At press time, NIGHT traded around $0.04060, up 29.10% over the past 24 hours and 71.36% over the previous week.
The Midnight ecosystem has been gaining attention, with partnerships established with major organizations including Google Cloud and Monument Bank. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson also recently forecasted that Midnight could be bigger than Zcash, citing its private smart contracts and selective disclosure features. He identified 2027 as a potentially significant period for Midnight's growth.
