Million-Man Campaign Pushes US Senators for Clarity Act Passage

Share

More than 1 million Americans have contacted their US senators in support of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a grassroots effort spearheaded by organizations like Stand With Crypto. The CLARITY Act aims to clarify regulatory authority between the CFTC and SEC, replacing patchwork enforcement actions with actual legislation.

The bill was introduced on May 29, 2025, by Rep. J. French Hill and passed the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote on May 14, 2026. A revised version of the bill, running 616 pages, was released on July 22, 2026, adding ethics rules and a sunset provision set for 2029.

Fidelity, which manages $7.1 trillion in assets, endorsed Senate passage of the bill in late July 2026, giving institutional weight to what had been primarily a grassroots effort. The bill addresses regulatory ambiguity that has kept institutional capital from entering digital asset markets at scale.
