Millionaire's Reach May Soon Be Limited by Bitcoin Scarcity
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao warned that Bitcoin's limited supply may soon make it impossible for even millionaires to own a full coin. This is due to the fact that some coins are already lost forever because their owners have misplaced or forgotten their private keys.
CZ pointed out that over 20.07 million Bitcoin were in circulation by August 2026, leaving only about 4.4% of the maximum supply still to be mined.
Zhao estimates that between 10% and 20% of existing Bitcoin may already be lost, with forgotten private keys rendering them inaccessible. This scarcity could have significant implications for investors who want to own a full coin.
