Mirae Asset Aims for $109 Billion Crypto Empire with Digital X
Mirae Asset Financial Group, based in South Korea, has ambitious plans to build a digital asset business worth $109 billion by 2027. The company aims for Digital X, its blockchain-based platform, to become a central part of its growth strategy.
The plan was outlined by Mirae Asset founder and chairman Park Hyeon-joo at an employee event in Seoul, where he stated that the group wants Digital X to grow from cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, and security tokens. The company is considering injecting up to 300 billion won ($218 million) in additional capital into the business.
By leveraging its existing client base of 1,500 trillion won, Mirae Asset hopes to expand Digital X's offerings and create a global platform combining traditional and digital assets. Park's goal is for Digital X to become profitable by 2027 and for it to eventually develop investment products and services tied to digital assets.
