MLB Players Who Can Change the Season with a Strong Finish
Kyle Tucker and the Los Angeles Dodgers are facing a tough season after his four-year, $240 million contract. Despite having five seasons of 25.4 bWAR before signing with the Dodgers, he is currently hitting .229 with only 11 home runs this year. However, September could be the turning point for Tucker as the Dodgers have a high chance to make the playoffs and win the top seed in the NL.
Another player who can change their season with a strong finish is Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners. Last season, he set the all-time record for most home runs by a catcher and was runner-up for AL MVP. This year, he has been worth 0.5 bWAR and hitting .165 with an OPS+ of 79.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays is another player who needs to step up in September. He signed a 14-year, $500 million contract last season but is currently hitting only .262 with 46 RBI this year. Despite being just 2.5 games out of the last wild card spot, the Blue Jays are in last place in the AL East.
