Moca Chain Mainnet Live: Digital Credentials and Payments in One
Moca Network's Moca Chain mainnet has officially gone live on September 29. This milestone marks a significant step in the company's effort to integrate digital credentialing and payments.
The Layer 1 network, which runs on the MOCA token for transaction fees and governance, is compatible with Ethereum development tools and allows users to verify credentials without sharing personal data repeatedly.
According to Yat Siu, executive chairman of Animoca, user privacy should be a top priority: 'Users should not be forced to surrender sensitive personal information redundantly every time they use a new service and platform.'
The network's commercial model is linked through Animoca's AIR Identity platform, which enables issuers to charge fees for verifying credentials. Businesses pay for verification, while users decide what data they share.
