MOEX Expands Crypto Derivatives Market with XRP Perpetual Futures
Russia's Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives market by adding XRP to a new lineup of perpetual futures, set to launch on September 22.
The contracts will be quoted in U.S. dollars but settled in Russian rubles and will provide qualified investors with price exposure to the five digital assets without requiring them to hold the underlying cryptocurrencies.
Notably, the new products will only be available to qualified investors, and the exchange has already seen significant activity in its crypto derivatives market, with over 72,000 participants and cumulative turnover exceeding 600 billion rubles since the first products were introduced.
Maria Patrikeeva, managing director of MOEX's derivatives market, described the expansion as 'an important milestone' for Russia's derivatives sector, citing strong investor demand for digital asset derivatives.
