MOEX Expands Crypto Derivatives with Bitcoin, Ethereum Perpetual Futures
Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup by launching perpetual futures tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and TRON on September 22. The new contracts will be available exclusively to qualified investors and will track the exchange's existing indices for these cryptocurrencies.
The perpetual futures contracts will have a one-day structure with automatic rollover, allowing open positions to be carried into the following trading day without reaching a fixed expiration date. Settlement will take place in Russian rubles, while the contracts will be quoted in U.S. dollars. This means investors will receive or pay the financial result of their position without receiving the underlying cryptocurrency.
The introduction of these new contracts builds on MOEX's existing crypto-linked futures products, which have seen over 72,000 qualified investors trade them since their launch last summer. The cumulative trading volume for these instruments has exceeded RUB 600 billion.
