MOEX Expands Crypto Derivatives with Perpetual Futures Launch
Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is expanding its crypto derivatives offering by launching perpetual futures linked to major cryptocurrencies. From September 22nd, qualified investors can access these products, which include Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], Solana [SOL], Ripple [XRP], and Tron [TRX] indices. This move aims to capitalize on growing demand for regulated digital-asset exposure.
The introduction of perpetual contracts adds a new layer to the market, which has already drawn over 72,000 qualified investors since its first crypto futures launched last summer. These instruments have seen volumes of over 600 billion Rubles, providing MOEX with an established client base to build on.
The perpetual contracts will continue to renew automatically daily, eliminating the need for traders to close their positions at the end of each trading day. This could increase trading activity on MOEX as professional traders manage crypto exposure in Russia.
