MOEX Launches Cryptocurrency Index Futures Contracts
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is launching an unlimited futures contract that tracks five cryptocurrency indices starting on September 22. The contract will be based on the prices of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and TRX.
The trading will only be available for qualified investors. MOEX's perpetual contracts are a type of futures contract that is settled in cash, rather than physical assets. The price of the contract will be denominated in US dollars, while settlements will be made in Russian rubles.
MOEX has previously reported that the average daily trading volume on its exchange reached a record high of 131.5 billion rubles (approximately 2.45 trillion yen) in August, representing a 96% increase from the annual average in 2025.
