MOEX Launches Perpetual Futures Contracts for Five Major Cryptocurrencies
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) has launched perpetual-style futures contracts for five major cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and TRON. These products are now available to qualified investors as part of MOEX's regulated exchange.
The trading of these perpetuals is live as of September 22nd, with the contracts listed under tickers BTCUSDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF, and TRXUSDF. These instruments allow investors to gain continuous exposure to cryptocurrency prices without directly purchasing the digital assets.
The contracts are structured as one-day futures contracts that automatically roll over each day, creating a perpetual-style trading structure. They are quoted in US dollars based on the corresponding MOEX crypto indexes but are financially settled in Russian rubles.
Access is limited to investors classified as qualified investors under Russian regulations, with initial margin requirements varying by asset. The first-tier minimum rates are 22% for Bitcoin, 35% for Ethereum, 38% for Solana, 43% for XRP, and 30% for TRON.
