MOEX to Launch Bitcoin and Ethereum Perpetual Futures in September 2026
Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is set to launch perpetual futures contracts on Bitcoin and Ethereum as early as September 2026, coinciding with a new digital currency law that takes effect on September 1. The exchange plans to offer these products as part of its broader expansion into crypto derivatives, which will cover a total of ten different tokens.
The perpetual futures contracts will feature automatic rollover for one-day contracts and will be cash-settled, meaning no actual Bitcoin or Ethereum will change hands. These products will only be available to qualified and professional investors in Russia, equivalent to accredited investor status.
MOEX has already introduced new futures indices for Solana, XRP, Tron, and BNB, laying the groundwork for its ten-token derivatives suite. The exchange's Managing Director of the Derivatives Market, Maria Patrikeeva, confirmed the plans, signaling a broader commitment to expanding the crypto futures lineup beyond just Bitcoin and Ethereum.
