MOEX Unveils Perpetual Futures for BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, and TRX
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Russia's largest stock exchange, is launching perpetual futures linked to five major cryptocurrencies on September 22. These contracts will be available only to qualified investors and are set to enhance market stability and liquidity. The move marks a significant development in the cryptocurrency trading landscape.
The MOEX has seen strong interest in its crypto-linked futures, with over 72,000 qualified investors engaging with the products since last summer. The cumulative trading volume for these products exceeds RUB 600 billion. The exchange will quote the contracts in U.S. dollars and settle them in Russian rubles without actual delivery of the underlying assets.
The introduction of perpetual futures on significant cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, and TRX may lead to increased trading activity among institutional investors. This move by MOEX could also influence how other exchanges in the region approach cryptocurrency trading, potentially leading to further regulatory developments.
