MOEX Unveils Perpetual Futures Tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Other Top Cryptos
Russia's largest exchange, Moscow Exchange (MOEX), is set to launch five new perpetual futures contracts tied to prominent cryptocurrencies on September 22, 2026. The contracts will be available only to qualified investors and will be settled in Russian rubles.
The new products will allow investors to gain exposure to the prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron without directly holding these assets. Instead, the contracts will follow MOEX's crypto indices, which are quoted in U.S. dollars based on their respective values but settled in Russian rubles.
MOEX has seen growing demand for crypto-related futures since launching its first products last summer, with over 72,000 qualified investors trading these products and a total trading volume exceeding 600 billion Russian rubles. The exchange's Managing Director of Derivatives Market, Maria Patrikeeva, stated that the new contracts were launched in response to investor demand.
