Monero's price has surged to over $500 as demand for privacy-focused cryptocurrencies continues to grow. The XMR token has been on a tear, up 46% in August and reaching its highest value since April 2021.

The surge in Monero's price can be attributed to several factors, including the introduction of native Monero support through Thorchain's recent upgrade. This upgrade enables native swaps, allowing users to exchange other cryptocurrencies for XMR.

Additionally, the growing focus on privacy has driven demand for Monero and other similar coins. According to data from Coinglass, Monero's open interest has surged from $131 million to over $260 million in just two weeks, with short liquidations nearly 10 times higher than long liquidations.

Despite being blacklisted by some top exchanges, Monero's price action reveals incredible resilience and a growing demand for privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. As a result, the probability of Monero surging to $1000 in 2026 has jumped from 6% to 26% this month.
