Quaid Slams Hathaway Casting in 'Days of Thunder 2'
Randy Quaid, an actor from the original 1990 film 'Days of Thunder', has expressed strong disapproval over the casting of Anne Hathaway in the upcoming sequel. In a post on X, Quaid stated that Hathaway's left-wing views make her a poor choice for the NASCAR audience who are likely to be fans of MAGA. He suggested that Nicole Kidman would have been a better fit for the role.
The announcement of 'Days of Thunder 2' was made by Paramount Pictures and Tom Cruise, who will reprise his role as racing champ Cole Trickle in the film. Hathaway is set to play a racecar team owner and engineer, according to Variety. The movie is scheduled for release on June 2, 2028.
Cruise and Hathaway made their announcement at a press event where they were seen walking back to a race car with the film's logo. Hathaway, who is pregnant with her third child, joked that she would have the baby before making the movie, which Cruise found amusing.
No major plot details have been released about 'Days of Thunder 2' yet, but it will be directed by Jonathan Levine. The original 'Days of Thunder' was a hit in 1990 and starred Quaid as Tim Daland, Robert Duvall, Cary Elwes, and Michael Rooker.
