Monero Releases Beta Stressnet Update Ahead of FCMP++ and CARROT Hard Fork
Monero has released a new beta stressnet version, v0.19.0.0-beta.3.0, to test proposed FCMP++ and CARROT privacy upgrades before a planned hard fork.
The update is incompatible with earlier beta stressnet versions and requires existing users to resync from scratch or reuse a testnet database.
FCMP++ aims to replace Monero's ring signatures with membership proofs that span eligible outputs across the blockchain, expanding the group used to obscure which output a transaction spends.
CARROT is a proposed addressing upgrade intended to add security, privacy, and usability features while maintaining compatibility with existing addresses.
