Monero's Beta Stressnet FCMP++ and Carrot Network Fork Scheduled for October 5
On October 5, 2026, Monero's beta stressnet, known as FCMP++ and Carrot, will undergo a network fork. This test environment is separate from the main Monero network where your XMR is stored.
The changeover is aimed at implementing Full-Chain Membership Proofs (FCMP++) and a new addressing protocol called Carrot. FCMP++ replaces ring signatures with a proof against the entire chain history, making it more difficult for investigators to track transactions.
Carrot brings additional security properties in address construction, ensuring that existing Monero addresses remain backward compatible.
The stressnet fork has no impact on the main network or your XMR holdings. This test is designed to prepare the protocol for a potential mainnet activation of FCMP++ and Carrot in the future.
