MoneyGram Brings Cash-to-Crypto Service to Solana Blockchain Network
MoneyGram has expanded its reach in the crypto space by launching its Ramps service on the Solana blockchain network. This move allows users to seamlessly transition between traditional cash and digital assets, making it easier for developers to build financial applications with real-world utility.
The company's Ramps tool is an API that enables other apps to connect to MoneyGram's global payments network without having to establish their own banking systems or navigate complex regulatory requirements. This means that users can now access cash-to-crypto and crypto-to-cash services across more than 25 countries for deposits and over 170 countries and territories for withdrawals.
Rift, an AI-powered trading platform, has become the first Solana wallet to integrate Ramps, marking the beginning of wider adoption on the network. MoneyGram's chairman and CEO, Anthony Soohoo, believes that each new platform connected expands its network's reach and enables greater access to financial services.
The partnership between MoneyGram and Solana is a significant step towards mainstreaming cryptocurrencies and making them more accessible to a broader audience. As more financial activity shifts online, companies like MoneyGram are adapting their services to meet the growing demand for digital payments and assets.
