MoneyGram has expanded its global retail network to include applications built on the Solana blockchain through its Ramps API-based infrastructure. This move allows developers to connect directly with MoneyGram's nearly 500,000 retail locations, enabling end-users to convert digital tokens into local currency without needing a traditional bank account.

The service supports cash deposits for digital asset purchases in over 25 countries and crypto-to-cash withdrawals in more than 170 countries. Rift, an AI-powered trading app, is the first wallet on Solana to integrate MoneyGram's Ramps service.

MoneyGram's chairman and CEO, Anthony Soohoo, stated that 'The future of payments is built on access.' By connecting to MoneyGram's network, developers can build financial applications with real-world reach, according to Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation.
