MoonPay Acquires North Capital for Tokenized Real-World Assets Push

Share

MoonPay is set to acquire North Capital in an all-stock deal valued at over $60 million, expanding its business into tokenized real-world assets and financial infrastructure.

The acquisition aims to add North Capital's securities-tokenisation infrastructure and regulatory capabilities to MoonPay's operations, which include cryptocurrency payments. The company has established its Trade platform to connect banks and fintech companies with tokenized assets, decentralized finance protocols, and stablecoin liquidity.

Salt Lake City-based North Capital will become a wholly owned subsidiary of MoonPay once the transaction closes. Its platform has recorded around $9 billion in primary and secondary transaction volume.
