MoonPay Acquires North Capital in $60M+ Tokenization Push
MoonPay, a US-based crypto payments company, is expanding its tokenization business by acquiring North Capital, a private-market investment platform. The deal, valued at more than $60 million, involves an all-stock acquisition agreement signed in September.
The acquisition remains subject to approval from U.S. regulators. Once the transaction closes, North Capital will become a wholly owned subsidiary of MoonPay.
MoonPay's CEO Ivan Soto-Wright stated that the deal aims to build a regulatory foundation for wider adoption of real-world assets (RWAs). Integrating North Capital's capabilities into the MoonPay ecosystem would help connect different parts of the financial system, he added.
