Morgan Stanley Enters Ethereum and Solana with New ETPs
Morgan Stanley has expanded its push into digital assets by launching exchange-traded products (ETPs) for Ethereum and Solana. The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (NYSE Arca: MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (NYSE Arca: MSOL) will track the price of these cryptocurrencies and charge a 0.14% expense ratio.
The funds will stake a portion of their holdings, passing any staking rewards through to investors. This move follows Morgan Stanley's earlier introduction of its spot Bitcoin Trust in April, which had attracted over $381 million in assets under management by July 16. The company also rolled out spot trading for eligible E*TRADE customers in July.
The launch is part of Morgan Stanley's growing crypto initiatives this year, including tokenization plans and digital asset tax-management strategies through its subsidiary Parametric. Global Head of ETFs Ally Wallace said the addition of MSSE and MSOL reflects the natural evolution of their product suite, which seeks to provide simplified access to digital assets.
