Morgan Stanley Tackles DeFi and Tokenization with New Digital Asset Lab

Share

Morgan Stanley has launched a Digital Asset Lab to explore emerging technologies in digital assets.

The lab is part of the bank's innovation-lab network, where teams test and develop new ideas before they're integrated into core systems.

Amy Oldenburg, who leads Morgan Stanley's digital asset team, said the lab will examine digital money and cash equivalents, including tokenized deposits, central-bank digital currencies, and tokenized money market funds.

The bank's innovation labs employ permanent teams and specialists from across Morgan Stanley, with facilities covering roughly 20,000 square feet across New York, Glasgow, and Bangalore. Up to 270 projects pass through the labs each year.
