Morpho Integrates Tokenized Stocks into DeFi Lending

Morpho has expanded its lending capabilities to include tokenized stocks from major companies like Apple, Alphabet, Nvidia, Meta, and SpaceX. The move allows users to pledge these tokens as collateral for USDC loans on the Base platform.

The tokenized stock markets are still small, with borrowing amounts ranging from $42,105 to $54,652 against pledged stock tokens worth $104,401. However, this marks a significant development in the intersection of traditional finance and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Morpho's integration with Arc, a new layer-1 blockchain from Circle, has facilitated this expansion. The network is designed for institutional users who prioritize compliance and settlement over crypto theater.
