Morpho Surges on Coinbase, Circle Integrations Fuel Price Jump
Morpho (MORPHO) saw its price surge by 3.44% in just three hours, driven by significant new integrations with Coinbase and Circle.
One of the key drivers behind this increase is Coinbase's introduction of fixed-rate, fixed-term USDC loans backed by Bitcoin, utilizing Morpho's 'Midnight' protocol and settling on Base.
This marks the first large-scale deployment of Morpho Midnight, with Coinbase managing the application interface while Morpho provides the on-chain credit engine and Base handles settlement. Existing variable rate loans via Morpho already exceed $1.4 billion, backed by around $3 billion in collateral, and this new product adds a predictable fixed rate option on top of that base business.
Beyond Coinbase, several additional integrations point to Morpho as the 'credit back end' for serious players: Circle Mint has chosen Morpho as the first credit infrastructure for a corporate BTC-backed borrowing product; Flare's FXRP RLUSD vault uses Morpho as its lending market and has already reached roughly 89% utilization with around $7 million supplied and $6.35 million borrowed; Zama announced confidential Bitcoin yield vaults that use Morpho to provide lending strategies while keeping balances encrypted on-chain.
The combination of these announcements, along with a risk-on altcoin environment and social amplification of these integrations, has likely driven the short-term price move in MORPHO. As these developments circulated, desks and larger traders may have updated their medium-term view on Morpho, leading to a sudden wave of buying or short covering.
