Morpho Unlocks Midnight Fixed-Rate Lending on Ethereum
Morpho, a lending protocol, has expanded its fixed-rate borrowing option to Ethereum. The new feature, called Midnight, allows users to borrow $USDC at a fixed rate, secured by either cbBTC or WBTC.
This adds predictability to the borrowing process for Ethereum users, but it's worth noting that Morpho's Vaults, which hold around $5 billion in deposits, can't allocate funds to Midnight markets just yet. The DAO still needs to enable this feature, and it's expected to happen by the end of the fourth quarter.
The key difference between Midnight and Morpho's other lending product, Blue, is that Midnight offers fixed-rate borrowing with market-set prices for maturity dates. This means lenders can lock in a return rather than face changing rates every block.
