Moscow Exchange Unveils Five Crypto Perpetual Futures Contracts for Qualified Investors
The Moscow Exchange is launching five new crypto perpetual futures contracts on September 22, giving qualified investors continuous exposure to the prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron.
The new contracts, BTCUSDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF, and TRXUSDF, track corresponding MOEX crypto indexes and automatically roll over each day, allowing investors to maintain their positions without manually switching to a new contract at expiration.
The perpetual futures do not deliver any cryptocurrency and are quoted against US dollar-denominated indexes, while profits and losses are settled in Russian rubles. This means that investors can gain exposure to crypto price movements without holding the underlying tokens themselves.
The Moscow Exchange has set first-tier minimum margin rates at 22% for Bitcoin, 35% for Ether, 38% for Solana, 43% for XRP, and 30% for Tron. The requirements mean traders must commit a portion of their position's value as collateral.
