Most Americans Believe Trump Profits from Cryptocurrency Ties

Share

A new poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos found that most Americans believe President Donald Trump and his family have profited inappropriately from cryptocurrency since his return to power.

The four-day poll, completed on August 17, surveyed 1,166 U.S. adults nationwide and had a margin of error of 3 percentage points for all Americans and 5 percentage points for Democrats, Republicans, and independents.

About 63% of respondents said it was inappropriate for Trump and his family to have profited in that way, while 32% said it was appropriate. The poll found that even among Trump's own Republican supporters, a significant number, three in ten, believed the president's business interests influenced his decisions.

Trump has earned over $1.4 billion last year from his family's cryptocurrency ventures, including World Liberty Financial and the Trump meme coin, which he has publicly championed.
