MSCI Threat Resurfaces for Saylor's Strategy Amid Bitcoin Rebound
Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc. has received some relief after the recent rebound in Bitcoin, but an old threat from index provider MSCI is resurfacing.
MSCI is considering new rules that could remove Strategy from its global equity indexes, potentially adding strain to the company's financing model for its vast Bitcoin holdings.
The proposal would exclude companies that MSCI determines are not compliant with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.
This development comes as Saylor seeks more capital to continue buying Bitcoin, adding concerns over shareholder dilution and the performance of securities issued to finance purchases exceeding $60 billion.
