MSTR Beats BTC in Every Four-Year Holding Period Since Adopting Treasury Strategy

Strategy Inc., the company behind Michael Saylor's bitcoin strategy, has seen its stock outperform Bitcoin in every rolling four-year holding period since it adopted its treasury strategy. According to CEO Phong Le, MSTR has generated stronger annualized returns than BTC across every rolling four-year investment window.

The comparison was made using data from August 2020 to August 2022, and the results show that MSTR outperformed Bitcoin in each of these periods. Le stated that this is 'by design' and aligns with the company's long-term objective.

Strategy Inc. has also seen institutional ownership expand, with 13 of its 15 largest shareholders increasing their combined positions by 27% during the first quarter. This increase in institutional ownership contributes to broader indirect Bitcoin exposure through mutual funds, pension plans, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
