MSTR Stock Rebounds Despite Growing Concerns Over STRC Buybacks
Strategy's STRC preferred stock has been recovering in value after a continuous buyback process by the company. The STRC price gained 27% from its June 2026 low of $71, reaching a 15-week high of $98.41 on September 14. However, concerns are emerging about the sustainability of this model due to Strategy's nearly 20% market share in STRC between July and September 2026.
Analyst Brian Brookshire noted that it is not healthy for Strategy to account for such a large percentage of STRC volumes as it tries to support the price. Analyst Maxi also questioned the dilution of MSTR stock through multiple sales to raise funds for the buybacks.
Despite criticism, Strategy's Bitcoin model remains strong, with an unrealized profit of $1.1 billion on its Bitcoin holdings. Barclays analyst Nick Cremo has reiterated a buy rating on MSTR stock and raised the target from $125 to $160, suggesting a 21% surge in price.
