Multicoin Invests in Grass, a DePIN Network Feeding Live Web Data to AI Labs
Grass, a decentralized internet protocol (DePIN) network, has secured investment from Multicoin Capital, an Austin-based crypto fund. The network pays over six million people for their idle internet bandwidth to provide AI labs with live web data.
The GRASS token surged past $0.80 on September 30, up more than 25% in a single day following the announcement. Grass aims to supply AI models with fresh data when they search the web, addressing a problem every AI company faces.
According to Multicoin, Grass pulled in $17 million in revenue last year and another $17 million in just the first half of 2026, a nearly sevenfold jump year over year. The company is guiding to $75 million for the full year and claims to be already profitable.
Grass is developing two new products: a Content API and a Search API, designed to let AI agents browse and retrieve real-time web pages through its residential network rather than traditional scraping infrastructure.
