Mysten Labs and Google Cloud Launch AI Agent Audit System
Mysten Labs and Google Cloud have introduced the Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), a system designed to audit the actions of AI agents operating on behalf of companies. Announced on October 6, 2026, the VAA allows enterprises to cryptographically verify that their AI agents acted within authorized parameters. The solution separates sensitive business data stored in Google Cloud Storage from cryptographic proofs kept on Walrus, Mysten’s decentralized data platform, and coordinated on the Sui blockchain.
The VAA addresses several critical needs, including dispute resolution, incident reconstruction, and long-term record retention. It can replay transactions between AI agents using Google’s Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, helping resolve disagreements. In case of security breaches, teams can reconstruct events from tamper-evident records. The system also ensures records are resilient against quantum computing threats and integrates with Sui’s Agent Payments facilitator for seamless commerce.
This partnership aligns with upcoming regulatory requirements, such as the EU AI Act, which takes effect in 2027 and imposes fines for noncompliance. Mysten Labs CEO Evan Cheng emphasized that VAA ensures AI agent authority cannot be exceeded, making their behavior both verifiable and accountable. The rollout begins with enterprise deployments, followed by broader access.
The collaboration builds on earlier ties between Mysten and Google, including the integration of Sui with Google’s Agentic Payments Protocol in September 2025. VAA leverages the Sui Stack, which includes tools for verifiable execution and data provenance, positioning it as a key player in enterprise AI accountability.
