Nahas Sees Boom Despite Crypto Market Downturn
Ava Labs Chief Business Officer John Nahas says that despite the current price slump in the crypto market, he has never been more bullish on the space. Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026, Nahas described the industry as being in a 'teenage pubescent phase,' where technology is maturing but the market has not yet settled into a clear direction.
Nahas pointed out that token prices are down and the market is underperforming, but he believes there are more opportunities than ever before. He cited real-world use cases and enterprise adoption as reasons for his optimism, saying 'I've never seen more opportunities.'
Avalanche (AVAX) has focused on deployments with tangible use cases, including enterprise payments, government adoption, digital identity programs, and blockchain-based ticketing for the FIFA World Cup. Nahas said that the project has not chased short-term narrative cycles like some other projects, instead concentrating on practical applications of the technology.
Nahas also discussed the benefits of Avalanche's custom layer-1 blockchains, which can be built to meet specific compliance and operational requirements. He claimed that this gives the platform an advantage over public, permissionless competitors, saying 'our technology can conform to make your business better.'
