Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping: Ransom Note Demands Millions in Bitcoin
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie, was kidnapped from her Arizona home in February. A ransom note demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin was left behind, with a deadline of seven days to pay up. The note warned the family not to 'play games' and included details about Nancy's home, suggesting the kidnappers had been inside.
Footage from a doorbell camera showed a masked man with a gun tampering with the camera near the time of her disappearance. The Guthrie family received multiple anonymous messages after the kidnapping, including one that described Nancy as 'safe but scared.'
The FBI and the Guthrie family are offering rewards totaling $1.1 million for information leading to Nancy's return.
